The Donnersbergkreis is named for the Donnersberg — at 686 metres the highest point in the Palatinate. The district covers 646 km² of the northern wine region. It is agricultural, quiet, and well connected: the A63 motorway runs through it, linking Kaiserslautern to Alzey in under 40 minutes.

Couples from the district — Kirchheimbolanden, Rockenhausen, Grünstadt — arrive at Villa Renting in under 30 minutes. Couples from Kaiserslautern are 35 minutes away. The venue is genuinely local to the North Palatinate in a way that venues in the southern part of the region are not.

The venue

The only manor of its kind in the district.

Villa Renting was built in 1880. The park covers 14,000 m². For a rural district of this size, that kind of property — full-day exclusive use, overnight apartments, a private park, a permanent covered outdoor area — is rare. The next comparable venue is well over an hour away.

The building has period chandeliers and original windows. The covered outdoor area was added to give a rain backup without removing the feel of the original space. The result is a venue that works in any season and any weather, without the logistics of a temporary structure.

Ceremony

Garden ceremony, covered backup, civil option.

The walled Heidelberg Corner at the rear of the villa is set for symbolic ceremonies. The local registry office in Eisenberg handles civil ceremonies on Saturdays by prior arrangement — the town hall is a short drive from the villa. If rain arrives during an outdoor ceremony, the covered outdoor area takes over. It has a permanent roof, open sides, and three chandeliers — the ceremony continues on schedule without any improvisation.
