The Season · Autumn
September and October — peak season for a reason.
The Palatinate in autumn: the wine harvest runs through September, the light turns golden in October, the park around the villa shifts from green to amber and red. These are the two most sought-after months to get married here. Book 8 to 12 months out for a Saturday.
The light
The golden hour lasts two hours.
In September, the sun sets around 7:30 p.m. Cocktail hour in the late afternoon, warm light on the garden, dinner as dusk falls. In October it's earlier — and somehow better. The light is softer and lower, the colours of the park are at their peak, and the covered outdoor area with chandeliers starts earlier in the evening.
The wine harvest
September means wine.
The Palatinate is Germany's largest wine-growing region. In September, the harvest is on. The roads smell of crushed grapes. Local caterers stock the new vintage alongside the older ones. If you serve Palatinate sparkling wine at the welcome reception, it was probably picked from the vineyard ten kilometres away a few weeks before your wedding.
The weather
What to plan for.
September is late summer in the Palatinate — 20 to 25 degrees during the day, warm evenings. October shifts: mild, 15 to 20 degrees, occasional rain. We plan for both scenarios from the start. The covered outdoor area, open on three sides, is the natural dinner venue in October — warm enough with heaters, open enough to feel the autumn air.
November sits in the low season: the venue fee drops to €2,900 on a Saturday, €2,200 on a Friday and €1,500 on every other day, plus €105 per guest for drinks and service. More date availability, full service. The ceremony moves inside, but the park is still there for photos.
The booking
Peak season means early.
Saturday evenings in September and October are typically booked 8 to 12 months out. Fridays have more flexibility. If you're set on a Saturday in October 2027, contact us in autumn 2026 — not spring.
